Jean, 2025. A very capable lady.

Lauren and Nadine, Pillar Point, 2025.
“Gimme a coffee, neat.” 2025.
Varun, 2025. Varun’s helped me figure out a lot about light, shaping the mood of an image, and how fun it can be to pretend to be serious in photos.
Pillar Point Watchers, 2025. There’s a beautiful hike above the ocean in Half Moon Bay and I caught this two framed by the enormous orb at the Pillar Point Air Station.
This was from a series of test shots for an upcoming photoshoot. Joey involved himself. 2025.
Gary, 2025.
Orpheus Ponders, 2025. This was taken during a whirlwind session in the park. Whirlwind in this case is fairly literal, as we had the wind nearly take one of our lights with it.
The Wind, 2025.
Chuck the Fretless, first of his name, 2025.
The Neon Marquee of the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto, a wonderful place. 2024.
The organ player at the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto rises from underneath the stage and plays a variation on the movie’s theme and a medley of tunes from the era. This place is incredibly special to me and I’m so grateful it exists. There’s nothing like watching a movie you’ve seen countless times but hearing a full theater laugh at the jokes and realizing how vibrant and alive art can feel even after decades. 2024.
The Neon Marquee of the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto. If you haven’t seen a movie there yet make it a priority. If you haven’t been in a while go back, it’s still just as magical. 2024.
Luke, 2025. Luke’s one of my oldest friends and is one of the most generous people I know.
Lizzy, 2025. I bullied my friends into posing for a few photos after a comedy show recently. I think the results were worth it.
Jack and Ethan, 2024. These two create some pretty wonderful music whenever they get together, which is thankfully rather often.
‘Pho’, a 1.3 second long exposure. It’s really fun to take what I’ve learned and turn it upside down from time to time. 2024.
KiAna, 2025. The collar was a compromise.
Ashley, 2024. Ashley’s the host of the Red Rock Open Mic and occasionally graces the stage. It’s always lovely.
L Looks Up, 2025. I see L almost every day and had to get a picture of this outfit. The man oozes jazzy cool, and loaned me a book of Jim Marshall’s rock star photography soon after this.
The Hat Man Cometh, 2025. Another character from the Alameda Point Antiques Faire.
Frank Carbajal’s portrait for the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2025 Latino Business Leadership Awards. Taking Frank’s photo was such a lovely experience. His passion for cultivating community in San Jose is energizing and it was an honor getting to see him receive the award this past week.
Joey, 2024. Getting him to sit still was tricky enough, why not also make it a long exposure?
Ethan, 2025. A lot of good music gets played in the lobby during Open Mic.
Asha, 2024. For awhile I took pictures of the open mic crowd afterwards at Molly Magee’s, proving you can use the magic of light to make anywhere look like a studio—provided you have movie stars at your disposal.
Nvidia GTC 2025.
The Pressroom ribbon-cutting ceremony, 2025. I covered the opening of a new restaurant in downtown San Jose that occupies the Lyndon Building, former headquarters for the Times- Mercury. Making sure that I’m in the right spot for the right moment is a skill I’ll always be sharpening.
The Young Guitarist, 2024. Jack’s always been an excellent model and was down for a pose based on an iconic painting from Picasso. I really like how it turned out.
Varun & Varun, 2025.
Hearts for Eyes, Ukiah 2024.
Caffeine, 2025.
Rooftop Sun, 2025.
Under the Sea, Ukiah 2024. I was nowhere near the sea.
Two heads are better than one, Halloween 2024.
Jelly Bean, 2025.
Jack, 2025.
The General Manager, 2025.
Jean, 2025.
Yee-Haw, 2025. Nadine was incredibly excited to find this vintage jacket that goes perfectly with her corduroy cowboy hat.
Cup of Love, 2025. The February special, a Raspberry Mocha at Red Rock Coffee.
Color Movement, 2024. I love creating these futuristic compositions. The way atoms and physics concepts were depicted in Oppenheimer inspired me to make my own otherworldly scene.
I didn’t even have to say anything, she just came right over. 2024.
Garage Portrait no. 4, 2025.
“What do you think, the classic burger?” “I had my eyes on the breakfast burrito, actually.” Alameda Point Antiques Faire, 2025.
Josh Shreds, 2024. I took a sequence of images at this particular Open Mic while Josh put on his typically energetic performance and I made it into an animation. This is one frame from that series, and I think it still feels like he’s moving.
Gary Dillabaugh for the cover story of the Silicon Valley Business Journal, 2025.
My Parents’ Orange Tree, 2025. My folks moved after 17 years and landed in a place on a relatively busy street that has an orange tree out front. They regularly fill a basket with a sign encouraging anyone to take a few, and the amount of delightful interactions that has resulted is delightful.
Varun(s), 2025. Why settle for one Varun when you can have six? This is what’s called a multiple exposure, where the flash fires more than once while the picture is taken, leading to multiple photos in one.
Rowdy Riley, 2024. Some musicians make an immediate impression regardless of what they’re playing.
‘Choices’ It was so much fun wandering around with our friends looking at little bits of history and capturing moments between vendors and shoppers. Alameda Point Antiques Faire, January 2025.
The Mic, 2024.
